About
During summer break at the tender age of 8 years old, I began drawing characters from my Precious Moments Children’s Bible. First, I would draw the characters and later I would color them in. I loved drawing so much, I would stay up late nights developing my craft in my bedroom that I shared with my older sister. (I kept the light on while she slept and she allowed me to because she knew how passionate I was.). As a freshman in high school, I began drawing various characters from Looney Tunes, Space Jam, and school spirit ribbons. After taking an art class, it prompted my adoration for painting which gave me indescribable peace. I had plans on attending the Art Institute of Atlanta, but decided to wait until I was fully ready to move to Georgia.
In 2010, I decided to pursue an Associate’s Degree in graphic design at, Tidewater Community College. I attended their Visual Arts Center in Portsmouth, VA where I learned the fundamentals of graphic design. A few classes shy from finishing my degree, I made the choice to transfer to, The Art Institute of Virginia Beach. I believe this was one of my best decisions ever!
Studying at The Art Institute helped me hone my craft and enhance my deep passion for graphic design. I love that I can create artistry that evokes emotion in my audience. Art has been a part of my life since I was a little girl and I thoroughly enjoy engulfing myself to perfect my technique. I pride myself on being very driven and focused. When executing my projects, I aim to speak to the mind, body, and spirt of my audience. I always strive to give viewers a sense of me. My goal is to continue to learn, become a better designer, and incorporate art wherever I may go.
